【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversfinishedfabricswovenfromx201C;Ex201D;electricalglassfiberyarnsthatareintendedasareinforcingmaterialinlaminatedplasticsforstructuraluse.Thisspecificationcanalsobeappliedtofabricsmadeofotherglasstypesasagreeduponbetweenthepurchaserandthesupplier.1.2Thisspecificationspecifiestheterminology,definitions,generalrequirements,andphysicalrequirementsforfinishedwovenglassfabricsThisspecificationpermitstheapplicationofsizingmaterialstotheglassfiberyarnduringmanufacturethathelpsfacilitateweaving.TheseorganicmaterialsaretypicallyremovedfromthegreigefabricandreplacedwithafinishthatiscompatiblewiththeresinmatrixspecifiedinthecontractingdocumentNote18212;Sizingmaterialsonglassfiberyarns,inmostcases,areremovedbyvariouscleaningproceduresasafirststageinpreparingafinishedfabric.Whentheseyarnsizingmaterialsareremovedduringacleaningproceduretheyneednotbecompatiblewiththesubsequentresinmatrix.1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.4ThisspecificationisoneofaseriestoprovideasubstituteforMilitarySpecifications:MIL-Y-1140Yarn,Cord,Sleeving,Cloth,andTape-Glass;andMIL-C-9084Cloth,GlassFinishedforResinLaminates.1.5AdditionalASTMspecificationsinthisserieshavebeendraftedandappearincurrenteditionsoftheAnnualBookofASTMStandards.Theseincludegreigeglassfabrics,glasstapes,glasssleevings,glasscords,glasssewingthreads,andfinishedlaminatesmadefromfinishedglassfabrics.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
