【摘要】:Thefollowingmethodsassistindemonstratingregulatorycomplianceinsuchareasassafeguards(SpecialNuclearMaterial),inventorycontrol,criticalitycontrol,decontaminationanddecommissioning,wastedisposal,holdupandshipping.Thisguidecanapplytotheassayofradionuclidesincontainers,whosegamma-rayabsorptionpropertiescanbemeasuredorestimated,forwhichrepresentativecertifiedstandardsarenotavailable.Itcanbeappliedtoinsitumeasurements,measurementstations,ortolaboratorymeasurements.Someofthemodelingtechniquesdescribedintheguidearesuitableforthemeasurementoffall-outornaturalradioactivityhomogenouslydistributedinsoil.Source-basedefficiencycalibrationsforlaboratorygeometriesmaysufferfrominaccuraciesduetogammaraysbeingdetectedintruecoincidence.Modelingcanbeanadvantagesinceitisunaffectedbytruecoincidencesummingeffects.1.1Thisguideaddressestheuseofmodelswithpassivegamma-raymeasurementsystems.Mathematicalmodelsbasedonphysicalprinciplescanbeusedtoassistincalibrationofgamma-raymeasurementsystemsandinanalysisofmeasurementdata.Somenondestructiveassay(NDA)measurementprogramsinvolvetheassayofawidevarietyofitemgeometriesandmatrixcombinationsforwhichthedevelopmentofphysicalstandardsarenotpractical.Inthesesituations,modelingmayprovideacost-effectivemeansofmeetinguserx2019;sdataqualityobjectives.1.2Ascientificknowledgeofradiationsourcesanddetectors,calibrationprocedures,geometryanderroranalysisisneededforusersofthisstandard.Thisguideassumesthattheuserhas,ataminimum,abasicunderstandingoftheseprinciplesandgoodNDApractices(seeGuideC1592),asdefinedforanNDAprofessionalinGuideC1490.Theuserofthisstandardmusthaveatleastabasicunderstandingofthesoftwareusedformodeling.Instructionsorfurthertrainingontheuseofsuchsoftwareisbeyondthescopeofthisstandard.1.3Thefocusofthisguideistheuseofresponsemodelsforhigh-puritygermanium(HPGe)detectorsystemsforthepassivegamma-rayassayofitems.Manyofthemodelsdescribedinthisguidemayalsobeappliedtotheuseofdetectorswithdifferentresolutions,suchassodiumiodideorlanthanumhalide.Insuchcases,anNDAprofessionalshoulddeterminetheapplicabilityofsectionsofthisguidetothespecificapplication.1.4Techniquesdiscussedinthisguideareapplicabletomodelingavarietyofradioactivematerialincludingcontaminatedfields,walls,containersandprocessequipment.1.5Thisguidedoesnotpurporttodiscussmodelingforx201C;infiniteplanex201D;insitumeasurements.ThisdiscussionisbestcoveredinANSIN42.28.1.6Thisguidedoesnotpurporttoaddressthephysicalconcernsofhowtomakeorsetupequipmentforinsitumeasurementsbutonlyhowtoselectthemodelforwhichtheinsitumeasurementdataisanalyzed.1.7ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.8Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandaren......
